Chapter 5
The greif that Holden seems to holding on to is his little brother Allie who was 2 yrs yuonger and died of leukemia. He loved his brother very much and you can tell by the he talks about him everybody loved Allie. His teachers would send home notes say how great a kid Allie was and they weren't just saying that to make his parents feel better. He noticed a lot about his brother too. He also kept allies glove with all the writing in it. It kind of surprised me of how much he cared for his brother.
" i slept in the garage the night he died, I broke all the windows with my fist."
I thought this really stuck out to me because when I think of me and my brother I don't know how I would respond to him dying, but I don't think I would punch out widows and risk breaking my hand. I did have a brother that died, but I wasn't old enough to know him and I wasn't alive to grief about it like Holden has.
i like how you based everything from the book, but you should have tried to connect it to your life
ReplyDeletei agree with you when you said you were surprised about how much he cared about Allie so much. Sometimes i feel the same way. Because you do stuff i ask even though you don't really care to do it, and even though you complain about it you still do it.

ReplyDeleteThink about what this reveals about Holden's personality, his struggle to fit in, his outlook on life.
